Thank you for visiting the website of the law offices of Dr. Mark Swatek, immigration lawyer and defense attorney.

I have been a “Fachanwalt für Strafrecht” since 2011 and a “Fachanwalt für Migrationsrecht” since 2018, which means that I have shown enough extra expertise and experience in both areas of the law for the Berlin bar association to award me these titles of qualification. I successfully completed the first ever specialized course for immigration lawyers in Berlin in 2016.

In my law office, I focus on criminal law and immigration law, the latter covering all aspects, including refugee law and citizenship law. I have over 15 years of experience and have worked with clients from a large number of different countries and backgrounds. I offer consultations in both German and English.

In addition to my work as a lawyer, I am interested in international law and the field of study broadly referred to as “genocide studies”. I wrote my dissertation on the history of “humanitarian intervention”, an English version of the book was recently published by Cambridge University Press.
